My equipment ¤ TMB 115 (not any more with me)

TMB 115 is a 3-element air spaced super apochromat with very good colour correction comparing to fast achromats, which show false colour on bright planets and stars.

Technical specification:

Aperture: 115 mm
FL: 805 mm
Resolution: 1.0 arcsec
Weight: ok. 8.1 kg (tube only)
Length (dew shield out): 84.5 cm
Length (dew shield in): 52 cm
Weight with case, diagonal and finder scope: ca. 15 kg

The refractor is built based on 3-element Super ED lens (air spaced). This ensures almost perfect colour correction. It is so good that there is no need to use minus IR filter for CCD imaging.

Unfortunately in comparison to TV101 I used to own it does not have enough flat field even for relatively small chip of Canon 10D not even mentioning 35-mm format. But with a field flattener it is possible to take images even with medium size analog cameras.

TMB 115 can be purchased in two versions: CNC and LW. The difference between them is the finish and weight of the tube. LW version is much lighter and has a different focuser. Mine is CNC - namely "a tank" but 12 kg for the tube, rings and diagonal so the weight is not for any entry-level mount.
